Ontario Welcomes More Than $7.5 Million Manufacturing Boost in Waterloo Region
Custom Foam Systems (CFS) will create 35 new, good-paying jobs at their Kitchener facility
The Ontario government is supporting an investment of $7,520,544 by Custom Foam Systems Ltd (CFS) to boost local manufacturing and create 35 new, good-paying jobs in Kitchener.
This funding was announced today by Jess Dixon, Member of Provincial Parliament for Kitchener South-Hespeler.
“I am delighted our government is supporting Custom Foam Systems in their investment in our community, which brings more well-paying jobs to Waterloo Region,” said MPP Dixon. “This significant expansion exemplifies the strength of our local manufacturing sector and the commitment of businesses like CFS to our area’s economic resilience and growth.”
With this investment, Custom Foam Systems will expand their Kitchener facility by 30,000 sq feet, increasing production capacity to satisfy a growing demand for foam components used across the healthcare, furniture, and automotive industries. The implementation of robotics and automation technologies across assembly lines will see to an increase of mould stations (from 10 to 30), allowing CFS to double their output of integral skin moulding products and expand product lines. On the fabrication side, medical mattress assembly will be increased, supporting additional product lines for elecric vehcile battery production.

In support of this investment, Ontario is providing Custom Foam Systems with $1,102,973 in funding through the Regional Development Program’s Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness (AMIC) Stream.

Ontario is investing $180 million through its Regional Development Program to help manufacturers across the province grow while supporting distinct regional priorities. To date, Ontario has supported more than 135 projects through the program, leveraging more than $1.9 billion in new investments and helping to create over 3,500 jobs.
